{"id":212,"date":"2017-10-13T18:44:47","date_gmt":"2017-10-13T18:44:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bmamps.com\/v01\/?p=212"},"modified":"2017-10-17T19:24:21","modified_gmt":"2017-10-17T19:24:21","slug":"design-16-amps-x-4-speaker-switch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bmamps.com\/v01\/2017\/10\/13\/design-16-amps-x-4-speaker-switch\/","title":{"rendered":"16 X 4 Amp to Speaker Switcher"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A client approached us who had a large number of amplifiers and speaker cabinets\u00a0 needed a speaker switch to allow him to patch any amp to any cabinet.\u00a0 He had done some research but the best offerings feel short of his requirements.\u00a0 The $389 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tonebone.com\/cabbone.php\">Cabbone <\/a>1&#215;4 from Tonebone (Radial Engineering) switches a single amp to two cabinets, or much more economical is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.delisleguitar.com\/shop\/de-lisle-amp-speaker-selector-v2\/\">de Lisle 4&#215;4 switcher<\/a> at $289<\/p>\n<p>Since neither of these came close we designed a 16&#215;8 speaker selector. \u00a0 A single encoder knob with a push to select function in conjunction with an LCD display is all that is need to operate the device so making a very clean interface.\u00a0 It also includes built in dummy loads for tube type amplifiers and is housing in a 2U rack mount cabinet.<\/p>\n<p>The switch matrix is expandable in blocks of 4&#215;4 with a maximum of 16&#215;8.
