SALTAG Dissolution

Important Notice

A proposal was made and unanimously agreed upon by the committee and AGM attendees to dissolve SALTAG and merge with MABRAKE (Milton Abbot, BRadstone and KElly) local action group.

It is the decision of the committee and AGM attendees that the combined group will be stronger together and more effective in their important work of fighting against the inappropriate sighting of large Wind Turbines in the local area.  It is felt the combined group will be able to continue with more efficiency and include a wider remit of challenging other potential issues such as future siting of large pylons and large solar arrays.

The process of dissolving SALTAG and joining Mabrake

The committee will remain in place until the process of joining with Mabrake is complete and then step down.

SALTAG Funds

Funds held by SALTAG will be transferred to MABRAKE (currently £319.43)

How this will affect you as a SALTAG member

For compliance with Data Protection purposes, we will NOT be sharing personal information with MABRAKE and upon completion of the merger we will delete all data currently held. Instead we strongly encourage you to join MABRAKE directly.

If you would like to become a member of Mabrake please forward your name and address to mabrake1@btinternet.com

Wind turbines act like ‘super predators’ changing ecosystems by removing birds of prey

It comes as no great surprise to hear this:

“We find wind farms have emerging impacts that are greatly underestimated.”

The bottom line is that pest populations such as rodents are booming because of wind turbines.   So, rather than benefiting the ecology of  the planet, they are actually destroying it.

‘Excessive’ green taxes are forcing up fuel bills, official review finds

Green taxes will cost the average household almost £150 from next year, according to energy firms.

Prof Helm said this was “significantly higher than it needs to be” to meet the Government’s objectives of cutting down on the use of fossil fuels and
promoting renewable energy.

He was asked to undertake the research after Theresa May, the Prime Minister, vowed to tackle “rip-off” bills. However, the industry expert placed the blame on the Government’s own policies.

“Significant institutional reform” should be brought in to reduce the Government’s role and allow the market to function efficiently, Prof Helm said.

Britain facing energy crisis that could see families pay extra to keep the lights on while neighbours ‘sit in the dark’

We have been warning about this.  Now it looks like it is going to happen. Renewable energy supplies are so unreliable that you might need to pay even more on top of the subsidy you already pay to have a reliable supply.
